Meet Robin Preiss Glasser
We are delighted to announce that best-selling children’s illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser will be returning to Books, Bytes & Beyond on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 4:00 pm. She will be autographing her newest book, Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet, as well as other titles in the Fancy Nancy series.
In the new book, Fancy Nancy and her best friend, Bree, couldn’t be more excited about their upcoming dance show. After all, it’s all about mermaids—and who knows how to be a fancy, glamorous mermaid better than Fancy Nancy herself? But when another ballerina wins the coveted role of the mermaid, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can Nancy bring fancy flair to her role, even though it isn’t the one she wanted? And when disaster strikes right before the big ballet, who will step in to steal the spotlight?

Robin Preiss Glasser graduated from the Professional Children’s School in New York City. She was a soloist with the Pennsylvania Ballet for eleven years and then received a BFA degree from Parsons School of Design. In addition to the beloved and best-selling Fancy Nancy series, she collaborated with her sister, Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman, on the ALA Notable book You Can’t Take a Balloon into the Metropolitan Museum. America, A Patriotic Primer, written by Lynne Cheney, was published in May 2002, and was #1 on the BookSense and New York Times bestseller lists, where it stayed for 5 months. She lives in Southern California with her husband, Robert, and her children, Sasha and Benjamin.
